Solar power wherever the road takes you
Each Adventus camper is fitted with a 400W roof-mounted solar panel system, feeding a lithium battery bank managed by Victron Energy equipment. The system uses two 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 lithium batteries, with Adventus specifying 2.56kWh of total energy capacity.
Solar isn’t the only way to keep the batteries charged. The Victron system can draw power from three sources: the roof-mounted solar panel, the Land Cruiser’s alternator while you’re driving, and an external 220V mains connection when you’re staying at a campsite with electricity.
That means an overcast day doesn’t automatically mean running out of power. Solar production may fall in poor weather, but stored battery power remains available, and driving provides another opportunity to replenish the system.
What can you actually power?
Quite a lot.
The integrated 500W pure sine wave inverter provides 220V AC power through four 3-pin outlets and a 2-pin outlet. That makes it possible to charge laptops, camera batteries and other compatible electronics, including equipment that normally requires mains electricity.
The 12V system also provides four USB ports, two USB-C ports, a Hella socket, cigarette-lighter socket and a Brad Harrison high-draw connection.
And it’s not just about electronics. The system supports the camper’s LED lighting, cabin fan, hair dryer and refrigeration, including the 90L National Luna fridge/freezer and separate cabin fridge.
For photographers, remote workers and travellers who want to stay connected while getting properly off the beaten track, that makes a real difference.
Built for repeated off-grid adventures
The LiFePO4 battery technology is designed for repeated cycling. As a reference, Victron’s published specifications for comparable 12.8V/200Ah lithium batteries indicate up to 2,500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, 3,000 cycles at 70% and 5,000 cycles at 50%, while retaining at least 80% of nominal capacity.
And electricity is only part of the equation. Adventus campers also carry twin 3kg LP gas cylinders, a two-burner stove and gas geyser, providing independent energy for cooking and hot water.
Add the 180L long-range diesel capacity, and you’ve got a vehicle designed for extended travel through remote regions including the Kalahari, Richtersveld and Namibia.
True off-grid freedom
